We went to Gallipoli to rest a bit and swim for a last time, however it was already getting cold by then so we rather just stayed at home for couple of days. We could see from our window the beautiful streets of Gallipoli with white houses - which was characteristic to Apulia region in contrast to dark brown houses in other regions.

The old town of Gallipoli (also where we stayed at) is actually a small island connected to mainland with a bridge. Therefore, it is like a seatown and has a big fish market. There we bought a very tasty mackerel freshly fished from the day and served ourselves a great meal!

Puglia (Apulia) is the leading region in Italy for olive oil and wine production and there are actually dozens of places to visit there (including beautiful Lecce), however we do as travellers say and leave a more detailed Apulia tour to our next Italy visit.
